Chocolate Bagels with Cookies and Cream Whipped Cream Cheese
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup crushed chocolate cookies
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup crushed chocolate cookies for garnish
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, active dry yeast, and salt
Add warm water, milk, and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients
Mix until a dough forms
Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic
Fold in mini chocolate chips and crushed chocolate cookies into the dough
Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape them into bagels
Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
Cover the bagels with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise for 30 minutes
Preheat your oven to 375F 190C
Boil a large pot of water and carefully place each bagel into the boiling water for 1-2 minutes, flipping once
Remove and place them back on the baking sheet
Bake the bagels in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until they are golden brown and cooked through
While the bagels are cooling, prepare the whipped cream cheese
In a mixing bowl, beat together cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy
Once the bagels have cooled, spread a generous amount of cookies and cream whipped cream cheese on each bagel
Sprinkle crushed chocolate cookies on top for garnish
